1. Just listen to them:
a. Download Play here: http://www.sbooth.org/Play
b. Install Play to Your Applications folder, or you can run it straight from your Desktop
c. Import the downloaded files in to Play
d. Then simply drag the tracks from the lower window to the upper windows and press play:
2. Burn to CD. No perfect solution here really. You can
a. Spend money, buy Roxio Toast 8, it will simply burn flac files directly.
b. Follow the iTunes route in 3. and use iTunes
3. Play it on you IPod, AppleTV and iTunes. To do all of these you must convert the files into either mp4/aac or Apple Lossless (I won't mention mp3 since it always sounds awful and produces bigger files then aac). If harddisk space is not and issue use Apple Lossless, since it sounds best and if you ever lost the flac files you can recreate them from the Apple lossless files without any loss of quality.
a. The perfect tool for the job is produced by the same people as Play and is currently called Max: http://www.sbooth.org/Max/
b. I assume you have downloaded and installed Max and started it. At the moment it seems to want to want to convert a CD first so ignore that. the tool you want is under File->Convert Files...
c. Now you need to add Apple Lossless to the desired output formats, click on the "Setup output formats..." button.
d Select the first "MPEG4 Audio" entry in the seconds list.
e. Press the plus button to add it, select Apple Lossles in the next dialog and press OK. The Dialog should now look like this
f. Also have a look at the iTunes panel to select automatic ading of the converted files to iTunes
g. Close the Preferences dialog and the conversion dialog is now ready to convert some files and add them to iTunes
